A note from the artist:
"I chose Act 5 Scene 1 because Hamlet is shocked to see Ophelia's dead body. As I was reading I felt that Hamlet was regretting not telling Ophelia his true feelings about her. One line 270 Hamlet says 'I loved Ophelia forty thousand brothers could not with all their quantity of love make up my sum.'"
I love how matter of fact Hamlet is in your letter and also agree that he probably regrets not telling Ophelia his feelings. Especially love the touch of what I think is blood? Nice!
ReplyDeleteNice interpretation of Hamlet's feelings "after" the fact. Do you think men are much different in Hamlet's time than they are today?
ReplyDeleteI also love how you framed the letter in lace revealing a hint of romanticism mixed in with the blood. Interesting juxtaposition.
