Thursday,, January 8 Day 4 Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"



Learning Targets for this unit: 
      1.   I can draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, 
          and research.
       2.  I can explore topics dealing with different cultures and world viewpoints. 
       3.  I can write an arguments to support a claim in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, 
          using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence
       4. I can determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and 
             phrases by using context clues, analyzing meaningful word parts, and consulting
             general and specialized reference materials, as appropriate.
        5. I can demonstrate understanding of figurative language, word relationships, and nuances in word meanings. 
         6. I can integrate and evaluate an artistic product in diverse formats.

Reminder: you have the "Sleepy Hollow" vocabulary quiz tomorrow.
Please be aware that the end of this marking period is the 23rd. 
Also the counselors will be pulling you to register for next year's courses 

In class: We will continue working with the story. The completed story / graphic organizer is due at the end of class tomorrow. The more productive and focused we are as a class, the less you will have to do independently.
